Engagement approach
From first conversation to a standing board rhythm
Owner-managed board advisory works best when discovery, papers, and session cadence are agreed before the first formal meeting. This page maps how Cedar Hub runs that path.
Introductory conversation
We learn who owns the firm, who decides day to day, and which decisions keep returning without a clear record. No fee is charged for this first call if we mutually decide not to proceed.
Discovery & engagement letter
A short written brief covers ownership structure, current meeting habits, and the first ninety-day focus. The letter states fee, cadence, travel assumptions, and cancellation terms.
Pack template & calendar
We agree pack deadlines, session dates, and who must attend. The first session often spends time naming decisions that have been informal for years.
Monthly sessions & notes
Pre-reads arrive at least five working days ahead. After each session you receive notes with named actions. Between meetings we remain available for time-sensitive board matters within the retainer.
Strategy deep-dive
A longer session reviews capital floors, succession progress, and whether the retainer still fits. Annual renewal is a deliberate choice, not automatic.
Where sessions happen
Marysville meeting rooms for owners who prefer to leave the shop floor. Client premises across Victoria when the leadership team must stay close to operations. Remote sessions for interstate companies once pack discipline is established.
Project formats — readiness reviews, succession series, and capital briefings — follow a shorter path with a fixed deliverable rather than a standing calendar.
